What does being USDA Licensed mean?

It is United States law that anyone sharing animals with the public must be USDA Licensed. Before being granted a license, our animals are inspected by a USDA government official who certifies they are healthy and up to date on all required vaccinations. The living quarters of the animals are inspected for cleanliness and safety. The USDA inspection occurs regularly, ensuring healthy, well cared for animals for your petting zoo or party.

We meet or exceed all requirements of the Animal Welfare Act.

Please do not give food to the animals without consulting our staff. Some of our animals are on special diets.

No food, candy,  or drinks are allowed in the petting zoo or around the ponies.

Are your animals gentle?
Our farm animals have all been hand raised. Many have been bottle fed after being orphaned. They are well socialized and love attention. However, they are animals with instincts which can make them unpredictable. There is a risk of being stepped on or bitten if children place their fingers in the mouth. Some animals, including rabbits, may scratch when being picked up. We ask everyone, including adults, to pet them and NOT pick them up.

Always provide Adult supervision at your party.

WARNING: UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), A FARM ANIMAL PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN FARM ANIMAL ACTIVITIES RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF FARM ANIMAL ACTIVITIES.

Our ponies are all very calm, sweet, and gentle. We carefully select them for your children to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience. None of our ponies have ever offered to buck, kick, or bite. However, it is very important to understand that ponies/horses are flight animals that react out of instinct. This trait can make them unpredictable. If suddenly taken by surprise or startled by a loud noise, there is a possibility of being kicked or the horse making a sudden movement out of surprise causing a child to fall off. To avoid this, it is very important to follow our guidelines. Keep your children/guests where we ask them to stand while waiting for their ride and do not approach the pony while another guest is riding or our trailer is preparing the pony for your event.

Half Pint Pony Parties provides staff to assist guests, and handlers for the ponies. However, it is the parent/accountable party’s responsibility to assist their minor child/ward while participating in activities offered by Half Pint Pony Parties.

Always provide adult supervision at your party.

Everyone around the petting zoo animals and ponies assume their own risk.

All participants must sign a waiver & release of liability form.
